The submarine Barbarigo, In January 1943 the Barbarigo was assigned to wage offensive operations in Brazilian waters, sinking three large merchant ships in February and March. In April 1943 the vessel returned to the base of Betasom (Bordeaux) and, in accordance with the Kriegsmarine, it was modified to transport strategic materials to Japan. On the 16th June, the Barbarigo sailed from Bordeaux with destination Singapore, transporting 130 tons of materials and 5 billion Liras. After the departure, the submarine was never seen again
